Aquilombar-se : panorama histórico, identitário e político do Movimento Quilombola Brasileiro

Abstract

A luta pela garantia dos direitos quilombolas é histórica e política. Abarca uma dimensão secular de resistência, na qual homens e mulheres buscavam o quilombo como possibilidade de se manterem física, social e culturalmente, em contraponto à lógica escravocrata. No período pós-abolição, a luta pelos direitos quilombolas se somou às lutas da população negra de modo geral, sendo uma forte bandeira dos movimentos negros organizados durante os séculos XX e XXI. O processo de fortalecimento da luta pelos direitos desses grupos construiu, todavia, uma outra faceta importante do ponto de vista político e organizativo que é a constituição do movimento quilombola, com suas especificidades em relação ao movimento negro urbano. O objetivo do presente trabalho é traçar um panorama sobre as dimensões históricas, identitárias e políticas do movimento quilombola no País. Tece, ainda, reflexões sobre as relações estabelecidas entre o movimento quilombola, o Estado brasileiro, o setor privado, as organizações da sociedade civil e demais atores imbricados no seu processo de afirmação de direitos. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

The struggle for the guarantee of the quilombola rights is historic and political. It embraces a secular dimension of resistance, in which men and women seeked the quilombo as a possibility of physical, social and cultural maintenance, in opposition to the slavery logic. In the post-abolition period, the struggle for the quilombola rights joined forces with the struggle of the black population in general, figuring as a strong flagship of organized black movements during the 20th and 21st centuries. The process of strengthening the struggle for the rights of these groups constituted, anyhow, another important facet from the political and structural point of view, which is the constitution of the quilombola movement with its particularities in relation to the urban black movement. The objective of this present work is to trace a panorama of the historic, identitary and political dimensions of the quilombola movement in the country. It fabrics, furthermore, reflections over the established relations amidst the quilombola movement, the Brazilian State, the private sector, the civil society organizations and other stakeholders imbricated in the process of affirmation of their rights.
