A possível incompatibilidade entre culturalismo e filosofias da existência

Abstract

Na literatura sobre culturalismo (Paim, Reale, Carvalho) vemos com muita frequência a articulação entre cultura e existência como algo de natural ou plausível, em especial conexão com a filosofia da existência do filósofo alemão Heidegger. Tento arguir neste trabalho (terceiro ensaio de uma trilogia sobre culturalismo) que a concepção heideggeriana de existência e a noção de cultura, como encontradiço nas fontes neokantianas caras aos culturalismos latino-americanos (incluídos os brasileiros), podem ser conceitualmente incompatíveis. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

Very frequent references to a rather natural connection between the concepts of Culture and Existence can be found in the Culturalist literature, in special allusion to Martin Heidegger’s philosophy of Existence. In this paper (third and last part of a group of three essays on Culturalism) I try to demonstrate that the Heideggerian notion of Existence can be conceptually incompatible with the Neokantian concepts of Culture largely influential on Latin-American (and Brazilian in particular) forms of culturalism.
