Abstract: We show the existence of positive minimal energy solutions for the equation −div(K(x)∇u) = K(x)f (u) in R2, where K(x) = exp(|x|2/4) and f : R → R is a superlinear continuous function with exponential subcritical or exponentialcritical growth. We use as a main tool the Nehari manifold method.
