| Abstract: | Esta é a segunda parte de um ensaio que tem como objeto principal a especificidade e o caráter multifacetado da investigação filosófica contemporânea sobre a biologia. A importação de conceitos e métodos das ciências biológicas para uma nova abordagem de certos problemas filosóficos também é objeto de análise. Fazemos um apanhado geral dos assuntos abordados nas duas partes do ensaio e desenvolvemos novas reflexões metafilosóficas sobre os tipos de tarefas a que se dedicam os filósofos no domínio da filosofia contemporânea da biologia. Discutimos, igualmente, a questão do protagonismo da filosofia, ao lado das ciências, na investigação sobre o mundo dos seres vivos. |
| Abstract: | This is the second part of an essay that targetsthe specificity and multifaceted character of thecontemporary philosophical investigationabout the biological sciences. The import ofconcepts and methods from the biological sci-ences to tackle affresh some philosophicalproblems is also addressed. We sum up thevarious subjects that have been addressed inboth parts of the essay, and we come up withnew metaphilosophical reflexions about thekinds of tasks philosophers undertake in thedomain of contemporary philosophy of biol-ogy. We ponder also about a protagonism phi-losophy might have, alongside the sciences, inthe investigation about the world of living be-ings. |
