Jornalismo e história : o jornalista como historiador do presente

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende discutir a narrativa jornalística como (a) parte da História do Presente e (b) a personagem como uma categoria estruturante dessa narrativa. Partindo do princípio de que a personagem jornalística é uma mistura de fato e ficção, questionamos se isso não compromete a configuração do noticiário como fonte de informação para a documentação da História. O corpus foi retirado da revista Veja no período entre 15 de junho de 2005 a 20 de setembro de 2006. As unidades de análise incluem notícias em que o deputado federal Fernando Gabeira (PV-RJ) aparece como personagem principal. Como proposta metodológica, seguimos “O caminho das seis leituras interpretativas”, criado por Sérgio Porto (1999). _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

This thesis aims at discussing the journalistic narrative as a piece of the ‘History of the Present’, whose structure has the character as a basic category. Considering that there is a mixture of fact and fiction in the construction of a character, we question whether this will affect the objective report of news which ultimately will be an information source for the documentation of History. The research corpus was drawn from the Brazilian weekly magazine Veja between 15 June 2005 and 20 September 2006. The analysis units include those pieces of news which present the State Representative Fernando Gabeira (PV-RJ) as the main character in the narrative. As analysis procedure, we followed “the path of the six interpretative readings” created by Sergio Porto (1999).
