Uma suspeita : acerca da suposta hierarquia entre metafísica e política no pensamento de Platão

Abstract

Este trabalho tenta responder a um conjunto de críticas, sobretudo àquelas que são originadas por Nietzsche e por nietzscheanos posteriores (como Gilles Deleuze, por exemplo) que atribui a Platão uma hierarquia entre a metafísica e a política, que resultaria em uma espécie de escravização da política pela metafísica. A suposição aqui sustentada é que não for possível afirmar o contrário – que para o pensamento de Platão, em todos seus desenvolvimentos, a metafísica e toda a filosofia estariam a serviço da política – pelo menos seria problemática a afirmação de um aprisionamento da política pela metafísica ao acompanhar a proposta do lugar da filosofia na cidade imaginada por Platão. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

This paper attempts to respond to a certain set of criticism, especially the ones inspired by Nietzsche, over the work of Plato. According to those nietzscheans (as Gilles Deleuze, for example) there is a hierarchy between metaphysics and politics at work in Plato's thought, the latter being enslaved by the first. The presumption here is that even if one cannot reject those criticism by affirming the contrary – that in Plato's thought, in all its expressions, is indeed metaphysics and all other branches of philosophy that are at the service of politics – to make a statement presuming this metaphysical trapping of Plato's politics would be at least problematic once one understands the place philosophy has in the city imagined by Plato.
