O mar e o canavial : transfigurações do real na poética de João Cabral de Melo Neto

Abstract

Este trabalho de pesquisa estuda a transfiguração da realidade em poesia na obra de João Cabral de Melo Neto. Seu ponto de partida foi a percepção de que a composição das imagens do mar e do canavial na poética de João Cabral indicava um caminho de análise que reunia dialeticamente, no mundo dos poemas, as contradições da vida social brasileira, a partir da transfiguração poética da realidade nordestina. Para compreender criticamente esse processo, realiza-se a leitura de alguns poemas de João Cabral com base nos seguintes eixos: a posição da poesia cabralina no sistema literário brasileiro; a relação entre tradição e vanguarda na composição dessa poética; e, por fim, a tensão entre refinamento estético e permanência do regional que se articula no interior do texto poético de Cabral. ______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

This research work studies transfigure of reality in poetry in the work of João Cabral de Melo Neto. Its starting point was the perception that the composition of the images of sea and of canavial indicated a way to analysis which gathered in the world of the poems, in accordance with dialetic criticism, the contradictions of the Brazilian social life, starting from the poetic transfigure of the reality native of northeastern Brazil. To understand that process critically, this work takes place the reading of some poems of João Cabral with base in the following axes: the position of the poetry of Cabral in the Brazilian literary system; the relationship between tradition and vanguard in the composition of his poetic; and, finally, the tension between aesthetic refinement and permanence of the regional which is articulated inside Cabral's poetic text.
