Integração das artes na obra de Oscar Niemeyer : três espaços consagrados em Brasília

Abstract

A pesquisa consiste na abordagem da temática relacional entre as artes plásticas e a arquitetura moderna brasileira. Para tanto, seleciona-se três obras de arquitetura religiosa projetadas pelo arquiteto Oscar Niemeyer em Brasília, sendo elas: Capela Nossa Senhora da Alvorada (1957-1958), Capela Nossa Senhora de Fátima (1957-1958) e a Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida (1958-1989). Sob estes três espaços consagrados verifica-se a problemática da ocorrência de integração ou de síntese das artes. Objetivando sistematizar o estudo, em primeiro lugar, investigam-se as diferentes proposições de integração ou síntese das artes na primeira metade do século XX e a compreensão das mesmas no edifício-sede do MESP (Ministério da Educação e Saúde Pública). Em seguida, a partir do levantamento documental iconográfico e das entrevistas do arquiteto e dos artistas convocados, analisa-se a relação arte-arquitetura estabelecida nos edifícios em estudo. Concluindo, com base na análise e interpretação dos dados coletados, objetiva-se contribuir para o entendimento do papel da arte nos espaços arquitetônicos modernos brasileiros, em especial, nas obras em estudo. ________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

The research consists in the thematic approach relational between the visual arts and the modern Brazilian architecture. For both, it selects three works of religious architecture designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer in Brasilia, them being: Chapel of Our Lady of Alvorada (1956-1958), Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima (1857-1958) and the Metropolitan Cathedral Our Lady Aparecida (1958-1989). Under these three spaces enshrined there is the problem of the occurrence of integration or a synthesis of the arts. Aiming to systematize the study, in the first place, it investigates the different propositions of integration or synthesis of the arts in the first half of the 20th century and the understanding of same at the MESP (Ministry of Education and Public Health). Then, from the iconographic documentary survey and interviews of the architect and the artists summoned, it analyzes the relationship between art-architecture established in these buildings. In conclusion, based on the analysis and interpretation of the collected data, the objective is to contribute to the understanding of the role of art in modern Brazilian architectural spaces, in particular, in the works under study.
